What fills my Hours
Marcella and I lived in the Adirondack Park for more than 20 years and enjoyed boating and fishing. The 6-million-acre park is one of the most beautiful places on earth. In 2004 we moved back to NH and lived on Lake Winnipesaukee for 8 years. We now live in Auburn, NH and are one of 29 trustees of the Longmeadow Preserve, hundreds of acres of protected land. At 75 and dealing with some health issues. Since retiring we winter in Gulf Shores, AL.
Family and Children
Marcella and I have a blended family. I have 3 sons and Marcella has 2 sons and a daughter. All are doing well and spread out around the country. We have 8 grandchildren ranging in age from 1 to 21. Luckily 4 of the kids live close to us.
Recent Awards
Nothing recent, but I am proud that in my working life I served on 2 different board of directors, the most important of which was the Lake George Association. The LGA is more than 130 years old and is the second oldest conservation association next to the Sierra Club.
After Central
I worked more than 20 years in the heavy construction machinery industry with Caterpillar Tractor and the J I Case Company. The second half of my working life was in manufactured housing. I retired in 2009.
Phi Delta Tau Memories
I was very surprised that I was accepted into the fraternity and that at first, I thought it was a mistake, I didn’t belong. The brothers were good students, hardworking, serious, mature and all seemed to have direction to their lives. I had none of that. I truly struggled. I discovered though, that their diversity and talents and willingness to help were what the Phi Delts were all about. I learned more from my brothers, whether I agreed with them or not, than I ever did in all the classes I took at Central. I think of Phi Delta Tau with gratitude and love.
